computing was meant to be a bicycle for the mind, a tool to amplify human intelligence and creativity.
that vision is still possible. but today's computing creates friction instead of flow. apps. layers. the overhead of managing your own ideas.
bicycle takes the friction out. pure intent meeting instant making. technology finally bends to humans, not humans to technology.
like a bicycle turns effort into motion, bicycle turns thought into reality. direct, immediate, true to nature, nothing standing between the idea and the thing.

## what is bicycle?
bicycle is a space for thinking, learning, and making, where you and the machine build in the same place, at the same time.
you think out loud. it reads, writes, and shapes the work with you. the screen comes alive as the idea takes form.
and what you make is real from the first second. a page, a tool, a drawing, a font, a world. never a slide describing one, the thing itself, yours, kept as plain files in a history you own. make it once, share it everywhere.
## why now
something crossed a threshold. machines began to understand intent, not just commands. that changes everything.
the middle disappears, the setup, the file-wrangling, the tool you used to have to learn before you could begin. what's left is the thinking and the making.
five years ago none of this was true. now it's within reach. we're still climbing toward the fullest version, intelligence that runs close to you, on your own ground, answering only to you, and we'll always say plainly how far up the road we are.
## why education
start where the friction does the most harm.
students already think faster than the software in front of them. they're already thinking alongside machines, usually where no one can see it. school pretends this isn't happening.
bicycle makes it visible. every student gets a space. every conversation leaves real, versioned work behind, work a teacher can actually see and follow over time. no hiding. no black box.
the first next computer was built for education, and it gave us the web. solve for the place that demands both simplicity and depth, and you solve for everyone.
so we begin small and for real: one school, one teacher, one class. not a market the size of a slogan.
## every student becomes a creator
the future belongs to creators. not consumers, not users, creators.
creativity was treated as an elective. it is the foundation.
a student researching climate change doesn't write a report, they build a model you can play with. a group project isn't a deck, it's a working prototype. a history lesson becomes a documentary. a math problem becomes a tool someone else can use.
every task is a chance to make something real. the line between learning and creating disappears.
## privacy by architecture
your work is yours. it lives as plain files in a history you can read, fork, move, or carry away at any moment. we never sell it. we never mine it.
